Firm founder and principal attorney Candy Ley Velazquez brings an intense passion to the practice of law. Family law matters are intensely personal and vitally important, and Candy Ley Velazquez approaches divorce and family law cases aggressively and tenaciously. Her passion for justice in family law matters stems from her time serving as a court-appointed attorney in guardianship matters, as well as serving as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Domestic Violence Unit of the Monmouth County prosecutor’s Family Division.
A resolute defender of her clients’ rights in the courtroom, Candy is also an experienced family law mediator who knows when and how to resolve a matter outside of court, serving her clients’ best interests while recognizing the need to maintain communication and working relationships between former spouses who share children, for instance. Candy teaches both family law and litigation to future paralegals and serves on the Essex County Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel.
